Rice broken 2 1/2 cup
Refined oil 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tbsp
Dry red chilli 1
Bengal gram 2 tbsp
Asafoetida(hing) a pinch
Jeera (cumin) seed a pinch
Salt to taste.
Preparation method
1)Heat oil in a pan;Saute the mustard seeds until they start crackling;Add dry red chilli. Add bengal gram and saute till the gram turns golden brown.
2)Add rice,asafoetida ,salt and just enough water to cover the rice .Cook for 10 mins.3 )Add coconut jeera and mix well.Remove aside and keep it to cool.
4 )Divide the mixture equally into balls and steam for 15 minutes in a steamer.Repeat till the mixture is used up.
5) Serve hot.
